Beschreibung
Project of an interdisciplinary international conference «The Memory of Power and Abuse of Power» organised by Franziska Metzger, Paul Oberholzer (Rome) and Hans Zellner (Rome) in spring 2024 in Rome. We embarked on the preparations with the conviction that moral judgement and power have a considerable impact on memory, responsibility, and the question of participation in memory processes, i.e. on what we call participative memory. At the conference, we want to bring together colleagues from the fields of historiography, philosophy, ethics, sociology, political science, psychology and education. The individual speakers, divided into four successive panels, will contribute conceptual reflections from their fields of expertise on the topic of power and dealing with power in the past and present. The different perspectives will be bound together by transdisciplinary reflections on «memory».
